Stacey Upfold contacted me recently and asked if I would assist her with a project (We are Stronger) that assists those in need. This particular project was aimed at women that have been through hardships in their lives. The project was a great success. The ladies had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the day. The ladies were treated to snacks, treats, lunch and goodie bags that were graciously donated by: Joan Goosen, Manaba Spar, Mvumi, Spur and Shelly Centre.

The day ended off with the ladies having a makeover and small photo session in studio. The photo session took place in studio at The Image Factory.
Makeup was sponsored by the amazing Michelle Bouwer.

I am Annelise. I am 50 years old and live on the South Coast of Kwazulu Natal. I am married to my first love (who I still love with all of me) and have a son who is the apple of my eye. My husband and I run a hospitality business.
In 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After 2 years of horrendous treatment I can say that I am now in remission. Without the love and support of my family and without the grace of God, I would not have made it. I hope to be an inspiration to all.
Inspiration: Believe you can achieve the impossible. Love life, love God and love yourself. If you dream it, you can achieve it.

I am Hilary. I am 50 years old. I am self employed. At the age of 48, I got divorced and had to start my whole life again. I used to make jewellery as a hobby and when I got divorced I turned my hobby into a business that now supports me. I am happier now than ever before. I used to be an introvert, but my divorce forced me to change. I love the new me.
Inspiration: Believe in yourself and try new experiences.  I say the following to myself when I am in doubt “I am an unstoppable action taker!”. Don’t self doubt, you can do anything.

My name is Lee. I am 50 years old. I am divorced and started my own sewing business, Glory Designs, 9 years ago. In 2014, I was approached to assist students in need with outfits for their matric dances. I started a new business called Memorable Moments that hires dresses, suits, shoes  and accessories. Most of the items that are hired out, have been graciously donated by the public. The hire business focusses on those in need. The small amount of money generated is normally used to wash the items hired.
Inspiration: All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Persevere and push through, the end result is worth the hard work.

My name is Lydia. I am 46 years old and work for “Give a Child a Family“. I am married to my soul mate and have 2 beautiful children. I had a 3rd child but she was taken by God a few hours after birth.  My husband does missionary work and his my biggest supporter and a mentor in my life. Having lived on the Cape Flats taught me resilience and perseverance. It also taught me to love people, no matter what or who they are. This is the reason I became a social worker. I strive to assist the needy so that they can reach their own potential.  My daughter says that I am her role model which inspires me.
I am here because of others praying for me and supporting me.
Inspiration: Never give up – the best is yet to come. I believe every moment is a Kodak moment. Have fun. My purpose is to honour God.
